Welcome to DSEI 2026
The 1st International Workshop on Distributed and Secure Embodied Intelligence for Smart City Applications (DSEI 2026) is co-located with the 23rd IEEE International Conference on Mobile Ad-Hoc and Smart Systems (IEEE MASS 2026), and will be held on October 21–23, 2026 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong SAR, China.
The workshop will focus on frontier topics in both the theoretical and applied aspects of embodied intelligence, distributed perception and world modeling, mobile ad-hoc and smart systems, edge-native inference and split computing, and secure and trustworthy operation of embodied agents in urban environments, while particularly encouraging and supporting research that explores the intersection of these fields with smart city applications.
This includes, but is not limited to, studies on large-scale perception and world models for long-horizon navigation, communication-aware learning under time-varying latency and packet loss, collaborative multi-robot coordination and sim-to-real transfer, on-device and edge deployment of vision-language-action models, privacy-preserving embodied analytics, adversarial robustness and safety-critical control, and resilient multi-agent operation under network partitions or attacks.
It is organized by members of the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). As a focused international workshop, it aims to provide an innovative platform for academic exchange among students, faculty members, researchers, and industry professionals from across the globe who work on distributed and secure embodied intelligence for smart cities.
